2023 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. As one of the many projects planned for the celebration of the anniversary, the journal "British Studies" by the initiation of the Institute of International Studies of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, is being presented to you dear readers. Even though sixty years have passed since our two countries established diplomatic relations, a journal specializing in British studies has never been published in Mongolia before. Therefore, this journal holds a significance as becoming the first journal in this field.
In recent years, the relationship between the two countries has been mainly focused on politics, trade, investment, defense, culture, and education, and British studies have been focusing on those areas as well. The first issue of British Studies magazine presents the latest cognitive news and research materials that are provided in a simplified manner including translations and interviews related to Britain to all readers and researchers within four main columns which are: "Mongolian British Studies", "Mongolian-British Relations", "Britain: Documentary Articles, Translations", and "New Book".
In particular, the first issue includes 12 interesting articles, interviews, and translation materials research articles such as "Review of British Studies in Mongolia", "British Health System and Its Features", "British Civil Service", "Political Philosophy of Britain", and interviews with Amarjargal.R, the 21st Prime Minister of Mongolia, about being the first Chevener of Mongolia, and with Philip Malone, the former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Mongolia, evaluating the relationship between the two countries. We are pleased to inform you that we will continue to publish this journal annually.
We hope that this journal will contribute to the further expansion of British studies in Mongolia and the development of Mongolian-British relations and cooperation.
