On 14th of April, Institute of International Studies, Mongolian Academy of Sciences, successfully organized international academic conference on “European Studies VII: Linguistics, International Relations and Area Studies” with the collaboration of European Studies Department of School of Humanities, School of Arts and Sciences, National University of Mongolia, Mongolian National University of Education and University of Humanity.
At the opening session, Dr. Zolboo.D (Ph.D), director of the Institute of International Studies, Binderiya.B, deputy director of Department of Europe, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, and Dr. Altantugs.N (Ph.D), director of School of Humanities, School of Arts and Sciences, National University of Mongolia, greeted with their opening speeches respectively. Mr. Marco Ferri, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Mongolia, gave a speech on "European Union Activities in Mongolia and Studying in Europe", followed by Dr. Battulga.S (Ph.D), National University of Mongolia, with a speech on “Resilience and International Studies and Area Studies: Trends, Efforts and Benefits”, stating the current state and future trends of international and foreign studies in Mongolia.
During the “European Studies VII” international conference, total of 39 presentations were discussed in three sessions “International Relations, Area Studies”, “Linguistics and Translation” and “Foreign Language Education”, and scientists from France, Germany, Hungary, Russia, and China presented their latest research results in person and online. Also, teachers and researchers from City University, Mandakh University of Mongolia, Institute for Mongolian, Buddhist and Tibetan Studies, Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, Buryat State University and Crimea Federal University, have participated.
Closing ceremony of the conference was conducted by Dr. Zolboo.D (Ph.D), director of Institute of International Studies, MAS, and facilitators of each sessions presented their results and held a discussion.
This conference was organized for the first time since the pandemic, and characterized by mutual presentation of the outstanding results of recent research on European studies in Mongolia.
