The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, the Mongolian Academy of Sciences and the Institute for Strategic Studies of National Security Council of Mongolia jointly organized the academic conference titled "The Yalta Conference-80 and Mongolia" on the 10th of February, at the Consensus Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

   At the conference, Dr. R. Bold, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, presented a keynote speech on "The Yalta Conference and Mongolia", followed by Dr. D. Ulambayar, Director of School of International Relations and Public Administration at the University of Humanities, who shared his latest research on "The Diplomatic Legal Recognition of Status Quo: Essence and Phenomenon". Also, Professor D. Bayarkhuu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, presented his research on "Soviet-ROC (Republic of China) Negotiations and Agreements on Mongolian Issue"; and Dr. N. Khishigt from the Institute of History and Ethnology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, gave a presentation on " Mongolian Independence Referendum and Its Global Implications".

   The Yalta Conference, held in Yalta city, USSR, from February 4 to 11, 1945, was a historic meeting of the three Allied leaders to discuss the post-World War II global order.

   During this pivotal conference, the recognition of Mongolia’s status quo played a crucial role in establishing the foundation for the international recognition of Mongolia’s independence and sovereignty. The event was attended by representatives from the Office of the National Security Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, the Institute of International Studies and the Institute of History and Ethnology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, the Defense Research Institute, the Institute for Security Studies, National University of Mongolia, University of Humanities, and the Golden Anchor Association for Mongolian International Studies.
