On January 16, 2024, Oh Seung Ho, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the DPRK to Mongolia, welcomed Tserendorj.Ts (Sc.D), vice president of Mongolian Academy of Sciences. At the meeting, the results of the work completed within the framework of the MoU between the Academies of Sciences of the two countries were evaluated as satisfactory and the possibility of further extension was discussed. They also exchanged views on the study and promotion of monuments and cultural heritages related to the history of the Mongol Empire in North Korea.
Ambassador O Seung Ho gave a brief presentation on recent situation of North Korea and the Korean Peninsula, as well as the achievements of national economy. He noted that he was satisfied with the results of the cooperation between the scientific institutions of the two countries and expressed his full support for contacting and cooperating with the relevant institutions according to the official request.
Vice President Tserendorj.Ts expressed his gratitude for taking the time to meet and exchange information, and as a historian, he presented to the Embassy's library some of the latest research works he has created on the ancient historical relations between Mongolia and Korea.
Both sides are confident that the scientific and academic cooperation between the two sides, which was interrupted due to the pandemic, will resume in the near future and cooperate more actively.
The meeting was attended by the first secretary of the Embassy, Han Chol Min, and Dr. Zolboo.D, director of the Institute of International Studies of Mongolian Academy of Sciences.
