Proceedings of the Conference "International Studies-2022: Mongolian Japanese Studies" has been published

    Since 2000, Institute of International Studies, MAS, has been organizing a conference “International Studies” annually with the purpose of supporting the research collaboration in a way of introducing and exchanging the latest research outcomes of scholars in country studies, international relations, security and regional studies. Annual conference continued as “Mongolian Chinese Studies” in 2020, and as “Mongolian Russian Studies” in 2021 respectively. 

    In 2022, on the commemoration of the 50-year anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Japan, the conference was organized under the name “International Studies-2022: Mongolian Japanese Studies”, delivering over 10 presentations addressing many significant issues regarding Mongolia-Japan relations, Japanese language, Japan studies, Japanese foreign policy, security, economy, education and philosophy, and at the conclusion of the conference, participants discussed the possibilities and challenges on enhancing Japanese studies in Mongolia, and exchanged valuable research suggestions and conclusions. 

    The proceedings include papers and articles of scholars and researchers in the field of Japanese studies, such as keynote speech “Research Areas of Japanese Studies at Institute of International Studies: Tradition and Reform” by Ph.D Serjav.B, head of the department of third neighbor studies, and doctoral candidate Zagdtsesem.U of the Institute of International Studies, “Japanese Economic Art of Catch-Up and Takeover, and Mongolia: Research and Analysis” by Ph.D Ulambayar.D, director of School of International Relations and Social Studies, University of Humanities, “Japanese Foreign Policy in the Meiji Period” by Ph.D Naranbayar.P, and “Japanese Resilience: A Lesson from Covid-19 Pandemic” by Ph.D Battulga.S, School of Humanities, School of Sciences, National University of Mongolia.
