Representative pays Visit to our Institute

    On 30th January, 2024, Mr. Nicolas Kai-Yu Wang, head of Taipei Trade and Economic Representative Office in Ulaanbaatar, paid a visit to the institute with fellow officials.

    At the beginning of the meeting, Zolboo.D, Director, of IIS, expressed his appreciation for the guests for taking the time to visit, emphasized his pleasure to have the opportunity to meet with the representatives, who have been cooperating and cherishing the relationship for many years, including the newly appointed Mr. Nikolas Kai-Yu Wang, and mentioned his willingness for further cooperation.

    Following, Mr. Nicolas Kai-Yu Wang expressed his gratitude to the Institute for their warm welcome, briefly introduced the activities of the representative office, and mentioned his sincere desire for continued cooperation. Mr. Nicolas Kai-Yu Wang, who has been appointed to Russia for many years, noted that he was overjoyed to meet with the Institute of International Studies, with whom the representative office had a traditional relationship, shortly after being appointed to the new position. He also emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation in the field of science and education, underlining that they would support institute's researchers for long-term and short-term study programs in Taiwan.

    Zolboo.D also introduced activities, research areas and research outcomes of the institute, especially of Department of Chinese studies, and the institute’s focus on training young researchers specializing in Taiwan studies, as it is an important field of Chinese studies, expressing his satisfaction with the work results of the researchers of the institute, who participated in the scholarship program announced by the relevant institutions of Taiwan. He wished Mr. Nikolas Kai-Yu Wang a success in his work and presented research works of the institute at the end of the meeting.

    The parties exchanged views on other issues of bilateral relations and agreed to maintain traditional cooperation.

    The meeting was attended by Turdalai.R, scientific secretary of the institute, and Bazardorj.D, head of the department of Chinese studies.
