Academic Team of the Institute has the following duties:
To carry out basic research, alone or jointly with foreign and domestic professional organizations, on the development of the scientific basis of policies and activities aimed at ensuring Mongolia's fundamental national interests through political-diplomatic methods and creating a favorable external environment for the development of economy, science and technology, especially maintaining the balanced and mutually beneficial relationship with two neighboring countries Russia and China;
To draft a policy on Mongolia's prime issues of foreign policy, such as mineral resources, energy, infrastructure, soft power, foreign loans, aid, direct investment, climate change, social and cultural impacts, and to prepare policy recommendations and studies for the policy makers;
To provide, promote and enlighten the public with scientifically proven and accurate information on Mongolia’s foreign policy and external environment.
We are working to carry out basic research and joint projects and grants with foreign countries, to submit the resulting policy recommendations and customized research to the National Security Council and relevant ministries, and to continuously deliver innovative scientific knowledge and accurate information at the level of policy making, decision-making and implementation.
